So yesterday I went and saw Monsters University ( the prequel to Monsters Inc) at my local movie theater with my friend. If you are in any doubt about seeing it..you are wrong. This movie was great. I loved watching it ( even though I was surrounded by small children but still I loved it) and overall the movie really exceeded my expectations. As a person who is not 5, 6, or 7 years old I walked into the theater with an adult mindset hoping that the movie would have several levels of humor, which it did. What made this movie really great were those levels of humor ( though at times it was a bit awkward when there was a joke geared for adults and I laughed while all the kids in the theater were silent).
Besides the humor there was a moral tucked in there too. During the movie we sympathize with Mike as everyone tells him he can never be a scarer, but with hard work Mike finally achieves his goal that for years every single person doubted his abilities just because of the fact "he was not scary enough". Strangely while I was watching the movie I realized that Mike and I that same thing in common, the scary part, but being doubted about our abilities. When I was in 5th grade a teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. That was an easy question, I wanted to be an orthodontist, I had known since I was in 3rd grade when I was in Girl Scouts and our troop was given a project to research a career option that we liked. Now being myself,I wanted to choose a career that no one else in my troop would have chosen, which in my case I knew I did not want to be a teacher, too much paper work and being with kids all the time almost seemed like torture, or a veterinarian because I can't stand to see animals in pain plus operating on an animal, I just didn't like it. Anyway as I was saying after I told that teacher I wanted to be an orthodontist she replied with " wow, you know need to be really smart and have a lot of money" in a tone of pure sarcasm and belittlement, similar to how monsters treated Mike in the movie. In addition to both Mike and I having been told our dreams were too great to be reached, it never stood in our way, Mike achieved his goal and I will too.
This movie has every thing, from humor to morals to scariness to college, this movie really has become my favorite sequel/prequel.

AWKWARD. relapes
I don't know if I can do it. No new AWKWARD until the fall! But that rises questions. what does that mean for the characters and the timing. I have a felling this is "winter break" for the characters while we have summer break then that way they can continue for another 2-3 seasons since they will still be juniors in the fall during the 4th season, then in the 5th season (next spring) they will be first semester seniors then (next fall) they will have the 6th season. Wow that's a lot of seasons but I hope that they will be more than 10 episodes, the only down side they will be be less in-depth an descriptive of whats going on in order to stretch the show. Now, if they were to write the show according to my proposed scheduled, what happens after? I there a college thing were all the characters happen to go to the same college? or is this a Glee thing just having the current characters make friends with freshmen then it starts over ( by no way I am bashing Glee, I love that show)? Well what ever happens I hope its good.

Jessica Lu as Ming (Pictures taken from http://www.mtv.com/shows/awkward/cast_characters.jhtml), is a show about a teenage freshman girl who gets in a mix-up with everyone thinking she tried to commit suicide when really she didn't. Well to keep it to the point here is the MTV summery of the pilot episode.
"In the series premiere of AWKWARD, Jenna Hamilton finds out that getting the boy of her dreams isn't all it's cracked up to be. Things go from bad to worse when a mysterious care-frontation letter leads to a misunderstanding of epic proportions causing everyone to believe that Jenna's accident was a failed suicide attempt. Rather than let her new identity as "that girl" define her, Jenna will turn her stigma into an opportunity to make some big changes in her life" (mtv)Throughout the show Jenna is seen blogging about everything that is happening in the episode which also happens to be the narration too. I like this because it feels organic in a way, as if we were actually reading Jenna's blog and envisioning what was happening to her.
Today I just finished season 3 episode 10 in which Jenna and Collin... well I don't want to give any spoilers unless those reading this want me to just say everything. If you do comment and I will. But anyway while I was watching this episode I could hardly watch because what Jenna was doing to Matty was terrible, thus totally changing her image from the victim in season 1 to now this b***. I really don't know what to think because so many things are happening at once and all I know is that I can't wait to see the next episode because its just that good. For those who now want to watch this show here is the link to MTV's Awkward. page with full episodes and schedules http://www.mtv.com/shows/awkward/series.jhtml
Gadgets!
What! These Gadgets are awesome! I am totally obsessed with the fish>> that I just added to my blog! Sorry if I go crazy with them.
What is this
I don't really know what this blog will be about but it will reflect me and what I like. Going off that there will probably be posts on music, movies, music from movies, tv shows and of course the environment. I am totally into saving the planet and stuff like that. In 5th grade I watched Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and that changed me and how I looked at the world around me. For the past 3 summers I have been going to this awesome camp in Colorado, where everyone is all about working with the earth and not against it while at the same time not giving up normal things (ex. toilets and showers).
I don't really know what I want from this blog except maybe to make a difference or to enlighten or help someone discover something new, but what ever it is I hope it is something.
